Top 5 Warning Signs That Your Social Media Posts Are Actually Spam
- Do you post selfies holding your product and showing the product or company name?
- Does your first private message to a stranger on social media start with “Hey Girl” and/or include a link to join your opportunity?
- Is your Facebook feed 90% before /after photos?
- Do you message people you haven’t spoken to since High School?
- Do you engage in interactions online, with a hidden agenda, hoping to transition the topic to something that would get people interested in your opportunity, without caring about knowing the other person?

STOP Posting The Name Of Your Company
People shouldn’t even be able to figure out which company you’re with. Now i know this might be controversial, but you want to create a little bit of intrigue and curiosity.When you post the name of your company you are allowing people to get their information from Google. They can do this without ever having a conversation with you. This means they will make their own assessment based off of what they read online. Or even worse they could potentially join someone else’s team.
By posting about your company, you are saying the company plays a bigger role in helping them, than you do. You’re just a sales person – an unimportant commodity – they don’t need. In fact, if you are perceived as a sales person, you are repelling your prospects!
Or they will read a bunch of negative stuff on Google and not want to talk to you. Obviously, in a business that relies on trust and relationships, the prospect NEEDS YOU.
Create a little mystery and curiosity, by focusing on what you can do for people or help them with. And if you haven’t figured it out already, all these lessons apply to building OFFLINE, as well as ONLINE. DO NOT diminish the critical role you play as an advisor and expert in the eyes of your prospect.
Great networkers position themselves as advisors (not sales people), who can help others get what they want.
But here’s the interesting thing.

I can’t tell you how relieved and at peace I felt, when I once again, was able to go out with my friends, visiting a family member’s home or be in a public place without having to think about prospecting anyone.
Just enjoying being normal again, was incredible, after two years of being taught that “everyone was a prospect” and approaching every conversation with a hidden agenda, I was free!
That’s because it wasn’t until I STOPPED prospecting, that my business actually started growing!

So, before I answer that, I have to say that there are people who are very skilled prospectors and recruiters who completely disregard the issues I mentioned above.
They knowingly and without shame, approach every interaction with a stranger as a prospecting opportunity. So Annoying!
Getting ridiculed at or straight up ignored by prospects is no big deal, as long as some people say ‘yes.’
The problem with prospecting in general, traditionally speaking, is that the mindset is always about what YOU want people to do and about manipulating people into doing what you want them to do.
In other words, it’s about YOU, not them. I didn’t like that, at all, but I still did it for a bit…until I found a better way.
And the reason I was able to quit prospecting everyone with a heart beat was because of the the help of some extraordinary mentors who showed me an online recruiting strategy.
